Area 01

Software & Technology

Commissioned software development, digital products, prototypes and specialist technical work — with the project structure around them when required.

From defined component to complete project.

AGM can undertake software development for external companies and can commission or coordinate additional specialist work where a project requires more than one discipline.

Typical work can include functional and usage concepts, UX/UI/GUI design, prototypes, web-based products and services, production utilities, media workflows and specialist technical solutions. Hardware/software integration can be managed where appropriate rather than treated as a separate universe.

Capabilities

Software development

Purpose-built software and components for external clients, from specification through implementation and delivery.

Digital products

Online and application-based products, interfaces, workflows and user-facing functionality.

Prototyping

Functional prototypes and technical proof-of-concept work used to test an idea before larger commitment.

Project integration

Coordination of external developers, designers, specialist suppliers and other disciplines around one accountable project structure.

Technical archive

Not a new interest.

Selected public work now includes Enhanced Ambisonic installations from 1990, AGMnet remote control and diagnostics, the 32-bit DSP “Virtual Room” at Touchdown Studios, the MR1 digital microphone recording chain, Three Speaker Stereo, networked encoding and later Replay Environments.

The common thread is systems thinking: software, control, audio processing, data movement and the practical workflow around them were often treated as one problem rather than separate products.
